Ajmer to Jaipur Day Trip: Reversing the Journey for Pilgrims

Morning (8:00 AM – 1:00 PM): The Heart of the Pink City
Start from Ajmer around 8:00 am and by road you will reach Jaipur roughly in 3 to 3.5 hours, for avoiding traffic please start early for better road experience.

Amer Fort (11:00 AM): Head straight to Amer Fort – a huge palace built with red sandstone along with marble. Wander through wide open yards, check out the Sheesh Mahal, also known as the Mirror Palace. Instead of walking, hop on an elephant if you like – or take a bumpy jeep ride right up to the gate.

Jaigarh Fort (12:30 PM): Sitting on the very same ridge, this fortress links up with Amer Fort via underground tunnels. Inside sits the ‘Jaivana’ – the biggest wheeled cannon ever built.

Afternoon (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM): Cultural and Architectural Wonders

Hawa Mahal (2:30 PM): Head over to the famous Hawa Mahal, also called the “Palace of Winds.” This standout five-level front, filled with 953 openings, shows off classic Rajput design at its best.

Close by, around 3 o’clock in the afternoon – the City Palace waits. A cluster of old buildings sits here, full of history, art, but also open spaces where people once gathered. One standout? The stunning Peacock Gate, bright with color. Inside, you’ll find small museums showing off artifacts from long ago. Not just a tourist spot – it’s still home to the royal folks who ruled Jaipur. Jantar Mantar (4:00 PM): Right next to the City Palace sits Jantar Mantar, recognized by UNESCO as a heritage spot. This place was built for watching stars – packed with huge tools that somehow still work perfectly now.

Evening (4:30 PM onwards): Return to Ajmer

Once you’ve had a full day, head back to Ajmer about 4:30 in the afternoon. Most probably get there by 7:30, carrying stories of grand palaces in your mind.
